A 24-hour martial arts marathon has raised more than £1,500 for charity.
Members from North Norfolk Karate Club performed a variety of disciplines, including kata, weapons training, philosophy and meditation at the fundraising event which raised proceeds for both the NSPCC and RNLI, reports the Kings Lynn News.
Helen Gooding, who is a member of the club and took part in the challenge, told the newspaper that the idea for the fundraiser was "spur of the moment" and its success has meant they are considering a repeat event.
"We knew it would be difficult at certain times in the early morning but on the whole it went very well and there was a great atmosphere," added Ms Gooding.
Meanwhile, martial artists in Swindon took part in a charity event during April to raise money for a local hospice, the Swindon Advertiser reported.
Six martial art schools representing different disciplines were taking part, hoping to raise in excess of the £2,700 generated by the event last year.
