ImageA man who transformed his life through martial arts is hoping to spread his success with others.

Until he took up martial arts training, Will Twigg weighed 20-stone and suffered from low self-esteem.

His transformation in the space of a year has seen him quitting his job, qualifying as a personal trainer and providing free training sessions for schools and community groups.

Mr Twigg spoke to the Morpeth Herald, saying: "My best mate got me involved in martial arts and I started losing quite a bit of weight. That inspired me to pursue my dream of being a personal trainer."

The 30-year-old is now eager to pass on his knowledge to others who may be suffering the same problems he experienced. He said that he wanted to set-up fitness classes for kids to "get them involved" and to let them "experience the satisfaction" of doing it.

"I don't see why people should pay £50 to £60 a month to join a gym to do it," added Mr Twigg.

In similar news, the Birmingham Mail recently reported that a 44-year-old woman form Halesowen started martial arts classes to over come a lack of self-confidence.

Bev Ridley started teaching classes within months of starting and has now been an instructor for over six years.
