Some of the top dispute lawyers in Oxfordshire have formed an unusual relationship with a local martial arts club.
The Commercial Litigation team at Darbys Solicitors in Oxford is giving financial support to the Miller Taekwon-do Club in Didcot, reports the Oxford Mail.
It will provide funds for the club to participate in UK and international events, including the European Championships in Croatia later this month.
Henry Mendus, head of commercial litigation at the firm, told the newspaper he hopes that the team "excels in the future".
"We are proud to team-up with this club, not only because it promotes fitness, strength of character and courtesy," added Mr Mendus.
He handed the cheque over to Gary Miller, the head of the Taekwon-do Club, at Darby's office. Mr Miller announced that he was honoured to accept the support and was certain that his club would benefit from.
According to the UK Taekwon-do Association, Mr Miller had a successful competition career as both a competitor and the England team coach and has been involved in umpire and referee training and certification for the last five years.
