ImageA Lincolnshire martial arts club is celebrating after its students returned from the Midlands Tae Kwon Do Championships with 15 medals.

The Annabel Murcott School of Tae Kwon Do in Bourne sent 30 participants to the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain tournament in Kettering, reports the Bourne Local.

Competitors ranged from the age of six to over 50, and members of the school won four gold, eight silver and three bronze medals.

Annabel Murcott, the chief instructor and founder of the school, told the newspaper: "As always they put in the time training and it paid off.

"We had some very close calls and some disappointments, but that is part of any sport."

In other news, Justyn Billingham from the Blaze Martial Arts Academy in Ascot was recently awarded his fourth dan black belt in kickboxing.

Get Bracknell reports that Mr Billingham has studied martial arts for 23 years and is a "well-known" face in the sport.
