A kickboxer from Wisbech has been awarded a trophy for her hard work and dedication to training.
Clare Rotman has been named the second winner of the Carly Gosnell Memorial Martial Art Award.
The Fenland Citizen reports that the award is in memory of Carly Gosnell, who died in a car accident in 2005 aged 22.
It is annually awarded to a competitor from the King's Lynn based Cobra Academy of Martial Arts, of which Ms Gosnell was a member.
Dell Mann, instructor at the academy, told the newspaper that he nominated Ms Rotman as she is now working towards her second Dan black belt in kickboxing.
"Clare has been training twice a week now for six years and always gives 110 percent," he added.
The award follows the announcement that Sean Berry, 14, from Newmarket, has been awarded £500 by the Suffolk Sports Aid foundation to enable him to compete in future tournaments.
He was recently victorious in the English Tae Kwan Do Championships, the Newmarket Journal reported.
