A man from Matchborough is to begin holding lessons in a rare martial art after qualifying as one of only 30 accredited UK instructors.
John Browning has passed his instructors badge in Krav Manga and now plans to teach the martial art as a method of self defence, reports the Redditch Advertiser.
Krav Manga is the official self-defence methods taught to the Israeli Defence Forces and has also been used in major Hollywood films such as the Bourne Identity and Casino Royale.
Mr Browning told the newspaper that self defence "is very important for everybody".
"I was looking for something a bit more realistic as opposed to the more traditional arts and Krav Maga is a realistic self-defence for the modern world," he added.
Krav Maga concentrates on neutralising an attacker as quickly as possible and uses the body's natural reflexes to defend itself as a means of protection to neutralize assailants.
