A schoolboy from Glasgow has received a national award for his attempts to combat bullying at his school.
Scott McNulty has received a Diana Anti-Bullying Award for his work at Crookfur Primary School in Newton Mearns.
The Glasgow Evening Times reports that the 12-year-old works as a buddy to other pupils with "additional needs" and recommends initiatives to teachers which could reduce incidents of bullying within the school.
Scott received his award from Esther Rantzen at a special ceremony in London.
His mother Mary told the newspaper that she and her husband were "so proud" of their son.
"He has a lot of empathy for other people. He takes his role as a prefect very seriously and is quite committed to it," she added.
Pupils from Fakenham Junior School recently performed a special production entitled Bully! in an attempt to combat girl gang bulling in the school, the Fakenham & Wells Times reported.
