A fitness organisation is set to expand its operations in Scotland to help prevent childhood obesity.
Shokk Fitness is preparing to open its first gyms in Dundee and Perth during August, the Daily Record reports.
The Shokk concept involves a combination of martial arts, dance, climbing and weights, designed for youngsters aged eight to 16 years old.
Shokk Fitness was established in 2001 and has previously been introduced in a number of existing gyms across Scotland.
Jonathan Williams, founder of Shokk Fitness, told the newspaper "there is no reason" why children cannot have a gym environment "specifically designed for them".
"It's about being healthy. We're not saying you should be a certain size, but you must be healthy. It's not a get-fit-quick scheme, this is a whole process," he added.
It was recently announced that Solo Martial Arts in Gosforth is offering free classes in kung fu, karate and kickboxing to people across the area, the Newcastle Evening Chronicle reported.
