A Sodbury family have competed in the World Karate Championship in Orlando as part of the Great British team.
Dad Paul Townsley, who is a tang so do instructor, and his two sons William and Connor, all competed in the event, bringing home eight medals between them, according to the Gazette.
Paul and his offspring secured podium finishes in the European Championships in Munich, Germany last year in order to earn their paces in the US-based final.
The competition was divided into three categories, forms, weapons and fighting, and Paul took two gold and one bronze medals, while William came first in all three of his groups and Connor won a silver and a bronze.
Mr Townsley said, "I couldn't be more proud of the boys. Such an achievement at such a young age is fantastic and they can only get better."
Meanwhile, the News Shopper reports that 15-year-old Ben Coward of Wilmington has won gold medals in both the individual and team events at the WIKF World Championship Karate event in Portugal.
