Despite their relative inexperience, children from the North London Karate School in Enfield took home several medals at the recent Meopham Open in Kent.
According to a report in the Enfield Independent, all members of the "young" team went through to the final eight in their competitions, with three competitors wining prizes.
Emine Osman took third place in the Junior Novice Kata, earning a bronze medal, while Serkan Seferoglu took bronze in the nine to 15 years category.
Finally, Harkan Akanay took the team's third bronze medal in the boys' Novice Kumite category.
Enfield North London Karate School is a full member of the English Karate Federation (EKF).
Meanwhile, a Peterborough martial arts club recently won prizes in two competitions.
According to Peterborough Today, The Annabel Murcott School of Tae Kwon Do competed in both the North and South Midlands Championships and won a total of 17 medals.
This included eight golds, five silvers and four bronzes across both competitions.
