A Welsh self defence organisation is off to the other side of the Atlantic to host a martial arts seminar.
Gwent-based Total Body Defence, headed by Alun Williams, has been invited to perform a the seminar in the US on August 20th, reports the Gwent Gazette.
His invitation followed Williams' win for DVD at the year at Europe's largest Martial Arts Exhibition and a seven-page feature on him in Martial Arts magazine.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Williams said: "After more than 20 years of me rambling on about self defence, training and making DVDs it is the least I can do to say a big thank you for all the support from my family."
He added that he will take his wife and children to the States with him and make the trip a holiday as well as business.
Meanwhile, two Colchester instructors recently spoke out abut how martial arts can be used to save lives.
Gavin Cawley and Sean Doyland of SD Martial Arts told the Gazette that krav maga is ideal for self defence as it uses movements that are easy to learn and which the body would do automatically
