ImageMartial arts experts from Huntingdon helped the Great Britain team return from the World Tang Soo Do Association World Championships with more than 60 medals.

The team of 50 from across the UK travelled with their instructors and Master Khan, European regional director of the association, to Orlando Florida for the four-day event, having qualified in the 2007 European Championships.

Among the stars was Safiya Khan, who won the overall under-17 female Grand Champion trophy after coming first in the three categories of weapons, forms and fighting, the Hunts Post reports.

Other Huntingdon medal winners were sisters Stephanie and Jacquelyne Pratt, who both earned second Dan black belts and third places in sparring.

Father and son black belts Kit and Jordan Lee achieved third in weapons and red belt Zhane Lister came second in weapons and third in sparring.

The World Tang Soo Do Association has more than 500 member studios in 36 countries with more than 100,000 members.
A Korean martial art, it teaches empty hand and foot fighting, fighting forms, self-defence and weapons, as well as a healthy and harmonious lifestyle.
