ImageA martial arts instructor is running classes in self defence to help youngsters deal with playground bullies.

Jamie Clubb, who teaches Chimera Martial arts classes at the Woodlands School and Sports College in Coventry, aims to help children who are set to begin attending a new secondary school in the autumn.

He told the Coventry Telegraph that it is important that children learn the "right attitude" in order to deal with potential school bullies.

Mr Clubb says that children entering a new school can be "prime candidates for bullying" as they are the youngest and most inexperienced of the pupils.

"It is small wonder that many of my new child students come to me at this stage in their lives either as a reaction to bullying they are experiencing or to pre-empt the bullying in the first place," he added.

Martial arts performers Strike, who became famous on Britain's Got Talent, opened two new martial arts centres in Liverpool over the weekend.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the duo appeared at the Family Martial Arts Leadership Academies in Speke and The High Street in Prescot.
