A young martial arts enthusiast from Surrey has achieved her dream of becoming a black belt.
Ellie Moulding from Midhurst recently achieved first dan black belt status in karate after studying the art for seven years.
The Midhurst and Petworth Observer reports that the 14-year-old originally took up karate after spending years learning both ballet and tap dancing.
She currently trains at centres in Fleet, Farnham and Alton.
Ms Moulding now also helps to teach younger karate enthusiasts, as she is no longer classed as a student after passing the belt examination.
She told the newspaper: "It is hard work but quite rewarding and satisfying. I am looking forward to my next dan in two years."
Spencer Symons, 37, from Drew Neal's Lighthouse Kickboxing School in Kidderminster, became the first member of the club to achieve black belt status earlier this month, the Kidderminster Shuffle reported.
