A martial arts club in Suffolk is hoping to attract new members after seeing numbers drop.
Haverhill Wado Free-Style Karate had to change its training night to a Friday as the leisure centre it resides in is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment.
The Haverhill Echo reports that its number have more than halved since the change of day was introduced.
It is hoping to attract new members through a new womens self defence class and short karate course.
Kate Sloan, assistant instructor at the club, told the newspaper that both parents and instructors worry that the students are "venturing out on Friday nights" rather than attending classes.
"We need to get our members back up if the club is to continue," added Ms Sloan.
"We had a student who came back with a bronze from the World Championships last year so we want to keep it going."
Michelle Plowman, a fitness fanatic from East Anglia, is using martial arts as part of her Physical Freedom initiative.
She told the East Anglia Daily Times that she has a determination to help tackle obesity in the local area.
