Martial arts instructor Don Werner has been given a prestigious award for his dedication to coaching.
After teaching judo for 50 years, he was commended with the President's Award from the British Judo Association at its annual ceremony at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
The Slough & Langley Observer reports that Mr Werner, who is the senior instructor at Pinewood Judo Club, has seen four of his pupils win world championship titles.
Despite now being the age of 76, he can regularly be seen coaching at the Pinewood Dojo Tatami, reportedly dedicating 60 per week to training junior fighters.
In other news, Stephen Moor, from the 61 Judo Club in Chalfont St Peter, has won a bronze medal at the British Masters Judo Championship.
According to the Buckinghamshire Advertiser, the 44-year old fought his way to third place in the under-66kg category.
