A centre which plays host to martial arts training has been upgraded thanks to a generous donation.
The Curzon Centre in Beaconsfield received £10,000 from the Veolia Environmental Trust to help refurbish both the building and its facilities in the hope of securing its long-term future.
According to the Buckinghamshire Advertiser, the centre is used by over 50,000 people each year.
The community venue hosts a number of events including martial arts, fitness classes and a number of other sporting vents.
Earl Howe, chairman of the Curzon Centre, told the newspaper that the grant has resulted in "hugely important" improvements.
"The Veolia Environmental Trust's grant has been crucial in enabling us to carry out the work, and we are extremely grateful to them," he added.
A new martial arts and fitness centre is to be opened in Southend by professional boxer James Chisholm.
The Southend Echo reports that Mr Chisholm, unbeaten in 12 professional fights, will open The Locker Room on October 11th.
